Nail update and random...

So I started using Nail Hardener and doing a lot more with my nails.

I’m the daughter of a chronic nail biter (like to the quick) and a cuticle picker.

I used to bite my nails A LOT. I even developed a taste for those bitter nail polishes designed to torture limit nail biting.

I’ve gone back and forth in the last few years-last year I had a lot of nail growth, but they would tend to break at some point. I’ve gone so far as to think about prenatal vitamins. But luckily, the nail hardener seems to do the trick-along with this:

It’s from Sally’s and it’s just under $5. It lasts for quite a while.

I’ve noticed I’m a peeler. Between the hardener, the garlic and the nail polish, then the topcoat, there seems to be a sort of magic thing that happens and it allows me to pick off the nail polish. That’s sort of gross (by sort of, I mean a LOT gross) and I understand this. However, I’m not biting my nails and I can toss the gross stuff in the trash…

The last few days I tested myself. In the past, when I’ve gotten clean nails, I tend to bite my nails. So the last two or three days I’ve had nothing on my nails and have just been looking at them. AND NOT BITING.

And, this stuff is pretty good, too…

Right now, I have 8 nails. My thumbs are a different story. My left thumb sort of has a nail, but my right one does not at all. It will get there, I am sure, but I’m all sorts of stoked that the rest of my nails are growing. The thumbs, I can deal with. And, I have noticed the non-breakage/hardening when I drum my fingers on the table or my desk at work. I sound like one of these ladies:

Okay, so I sound like one of these ladies IN MY HEAD, but still.

So yeah, project nail growth is a go!!!!

Also, work yesterday had a few special guest stars... I'm going to call them 'Swarthy Persian and his ladyminions.' Yup, ladyminions.
You're welcome.
