Still here
A comment from xjenavivex this week made me realize, with horror, that I haven't posted anything here since last May. I've been meaning to, of course, and still reading my flist, but this whole posting business kind of got away from me.
Mostly I'm trying to work on jewelry these days and around the time of my last post I started working part time for a jewelry designer in Brooklyn doing bench work - my first job in the business, and a huge break for me (yay for employers willing to hire non-traditional employees!!). I also do piecework pearl-stringing for her which is, like, the last thing I've been interested in doing but it pays nicely and I can do it at home.
My own work has been up and down - etsy has been stupid slow for a while and at this point I want to work up the moxie to contact shops and try to get them to sell my work. I just don't know if etsy is the right venue for me, although I also think my work hasn't been terribly focused stylistically.
I'm trying to creep into the world of social media (don't even ask), and so I've started a tumblr blog, from the atelier. I've been enjoying making it and I hope that it will get me connected to some other jewelry blogs. If you tumbl, follow me and and I'll follow you back. :)
This isn't an etsy piece - I did it for myself - but I made a simpler version for etsy and I want to expand on this theme.
