The newboys have been a mainstay in the Gotham City Thanksgiving Parade for more than a century. While the little fellas ride on a float provided by the Wayne Foundation, the older boys dance and sing their way down the street, staging their most acrobatic moves in front of the TV cameras.
Only one entry is more popular than the newsies, and he comes just after, shouting his "Merry Christmas!" to the thousands of cheering children lining the route.
But this year a new offering is sure to get an even stronger reaction: the giant black balloon of the Batman.
