Dick sees her fall and springs forward. Too late for the line--she's already got too much momentum... or is it velocity? He can review physics later. The salient point is that if he loops the titanium-steel cord around her now, at best, it'll slice into something vital. At worst... kill or paralyze.

All of this flashes through his mind as he swoops down below her trajectory, then rises to catch her on the upswing. Her head and neck thump into his upper arm and chest. Perfect. The way he caught her, at that angle, at worst, she'll have a bump on her head from hitting his Kevlar-encased shoulder.

"Why is it," he asks lightly, "that the gorgeous ones keep falling for me?"

During her fall, she feels herself being caught, and her head bump into something slightly hard.

She hears the words spoken from him and slightly blushes, "I dunno." She can't hide her blush and she feel the heat spread through her body. "Thanks," she mumbles.

Dick smiles. "We capes have to stick together." He touches down on a low-rise rooftop and lowers her gently to her feet.

"You okay?"
