Opting for a slightly low-profile approach, Sirius decided to simply Apparate to Gotham city, and stood before Arkham Assylum. He gave a little sigh and hoisted a bag over his shoulder, unsure what to take or do, and so had brought a few necessities. He was sobre. His head hurt. And he looked slightly more pale and thin than a seventeen-year-old  ( Read more... )

The receptionist looks him up and down quickly, then nods. "Sure thing..."

A bit of shuffling, and some paperwork on a clipboard is thrust towards him. "Fill these out, please, and I'll page them for you."

He took the pen and began to fill out his details. He wondered if he should be truthful about the details --such as being born in 1960-- but shrugs it off. Either Rosie or Dr Crane would have filled them in or they'd think he was crazy, which was no surprise. He handed them back to the receptionist after a while.

The receptionist, well, at least she can keep her comments to herself.

Rosie appears not long after he's finished the paperwork, smiling apologetically. "Sorry I took so long."

He smiles slightly nervously. "Hi Rosie." For the first time in a long while, the slightly haughty, confident nature of Sirius Black is gone to reveal the wide-eyed nature similar to his younger self in the nexus.

"Hey cutie. You ready?" She motions to the corridor from which she appeared. "I thought you might want to get settled into your room before seeing Jo--Doctor Crane."

"You're not being locked up. We only lock the doors to keep you safe. It isn't to keep you inside." She leans against a wall, letting him look around. The room is comfortably furnished--a soft bed, a dresser, a television, a few plants in the window and a table and comfortable chair set beneath.

"You might not go. Your world is already very different from the world in which that happens. And if it does happen...you're strong. Very strong."

He smiles grimly. "Apparently it's because I know I'm not guilty. And eventually revenge, which is true. One of the reasons I'm here doing this. Asides from Moony, my friends and some of the family I like."

"And no --I'm not going. I'm going to make sure we all get our happy ending this time." He's quite resolute about this.

He looks around the room and nods, smiling. "Thank you." He goes over to the television and pokes at it. "Oh, I've never really seen one of these before apart from at Jason's..."
