Hi Fi Festival

Well this weekend I went to my first UK music festival. It was possibly the best festival I've ever been to... teh only thing missing was all of you guys. The festival was held just outside Winchester which is 2 hours away from London. The area was beautiful, the festival was held in a valley and all the camping was on top of the hill, surrounded by forest. The English do not know how to put up tents. I whipped mine up in a jiffy, not noticing everyone around me, when I sat down I started to notice something funny... all the people were walking around with tents. Normally one would peg in the ground, put the poles through the top, bend the sticks to make the dome and then put the cover on and peg the ropes in. Simple. The english dont do it this way, instead they get a team of people to hold the corners then 2 people struggle to put the poles in, the wind blows the tent around and the team of people struggle to keep hold of the tent, they then jump around with the cover trying to get it over. Then they walk around to where they want the tent to sit and peg it in. This just doesn't make sense to me. Shouldn't all things be built from the ground up? Anyways... The next morning I woke up and looked outside, about 10% of the tents had collapsed and the majority of the conversation I could hear around the campsite was about how shit their tents were. Maybe Kiki needs to come and be camp supervisor and show these stupid english people how to stop be lazy and set up the godamn tent...NOW! Anyways, apart from that.... The festival was so good, sizewise it was bigger than Splendour, about half the people though. And the time it was open was from 2pm to 4am, so theres no going home and having to set up obsticals (how the fuck do you spell obstacle, obstical...hmmm... i dont know)cause you're still buzzing. There was a main stage with live bands that played from 2pm to 11pm. All the bands I saw were awesome, if you havn't heard of them I suggest yuo download them... very good indeed.
Kosheen - you should have heard of them before, tehy're pretty old
Karma 45 - Singer kinda sounds like Placebo, Guitar kinda like U2
The Go Team - I'm sure you all saw them at BDO - download the cd if you dont have it already
Hard Fi - These guys are really big here, awesome in concert
Ian Brown - This mans head is on posters at every tube station, when I first arrived here I said to tanya - 'who the fuck is ian brown??' Ian Brown is very fucking awesome. I am going out to buy his CD today because I am craving listening to his music again.
Other than the few bands that played the rest of the music was dance, I saw Mylo, Carl Cox, 2Many DJ's, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold...all very good.
So that was my weekend. I had lots of fun, took a lot of pills - pills are only £3 here. Saw lots of new bands and dj's and had a fucking awesome time... but I did miss having a whole group of girls to hang out with. (I went with Dangerous Dave, a boy from the hostel who was a festival virgin before Hi Fi)

Kiki - I don't know what the other girls have suggested... there was talk about going to Spain but on the 14-16 of July there is a dance festival in Holland, just outside Amsterdam. People playing are Armin Van Buuren, Afrika Bambaata, Carl Cox, Prodigy and more. Return travel from london, 3 day ticket with camping is £159. right now I'm pumped for some more music festivals so if you are keen I am keen OR this one sounds just as good...
