I just finished Half the blood of Brooklyn by Charlie Houston. It was enjoyable. I prefer my vampires nasty. And Joe Pitt is a mean bastard.

I read "Joe Pitt" first in your post and immediately thought of the character in "Angels in America" and then I thought, "Hmmm...well, I guess he is a bit of a mean bastard. Sorta. *readig, reading* Um...vampires? Waaaaait...."

It's dirty nasty vampire which is what I like. None of this romance vampire stuff. Though he does have a girlfriend. :)
