What I'm reading

I just finished a great book called Mahu by Neil Plakcy. It's a mystery set in Hawaii. Most of the story concentrates on the main character's journey of self-discovery. His realization that he might be gay shakes up not just his investigation, but his personal life. Told in first person. I really liked the main character. He's complex. There are plenty of descriptions of the landscape which was interesting since I've never been to Hawaii. I'm pleased to see the reviews are all good over at Amazon.

I'm also looking forward to an upcoming novel. It's due on the 30th of this month.

All through the night by Suzanne Brockmann

It's a new Jules Cassidy story and this time, there's a wedding.

Also of note, Suzanne has donated all of her earnings (advance, royalties and subrights) from ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT to MassEquality's Educational Fund. MassEquality is a group dedicated to preserving equal marriage rights in Massachusetts. http://www.massequality.org/

In Brockmann's last novel, Force of nature, Jules and Robin finally did it! I read in an interview with the author from a few years ago that she was only allowed to go as far as a kiss with the character Jules.

And the author's notes about Force of Nature where she talks about the main characters rebellion.

And last but not least, tonight a new Heroes.
