Wither caps and thoughts
I must admit to feeling two ways about SV now. On the one hand I know the show isn't perfect, but on the other hand, I find I can't turn away from Clark Kent and Tom Welling's performance as the soon to be man of steel. I rewatched the episode with the intension of concentrating only on Clark, and I found myself thinking that I liked it that way. Tptb may not always get it right, but I have grown very fond of Clark. I don't really have much to say about Lex anymore. He's with Lana and frankly I find that totally boring. I doubt that will change any time soon.
I don't have much more to say about the episode except once again Clark has saved a mansion full of people and nobody was there to thank him. I find I'm not upset at all that he destroyed the creature. She wasn't human and Clark did try to talk her out of killing all the people at the party. He had no choice whatsoever. He couldn't reason with it and he couldn't trap it someplace safe. He probably felt some guilt over being responsible for its release, though he had no control over that. It seems what happened with the Zone will haunt Clark throughout the season.
As for his runin with Lex, I agree with Clark. Lex does have ulterior motives for the things he does. That has never been in question. I don't agree with him about Lana. She does belong more in Lex's world than Clark's. I have to wonder if part of Clark's bitter feelings (because they are very bitter feelings) has to do with what happened in episode 100. I'm assuming he remembers that Lex caused the accident that killed Lana in the original timeline. Wouldn't that cause a lot of mixed up emotions on Clark's part? He gave his father's life up for Lana and in the end he still couldn't have her. Now she's with Lex the person who killed Lana. If I'm wrong about that correct me, but it seems like Clark has a lot of issues to work through before he's finally ready to move on. In the mean time he can look absolutly stunning as he mopes through the episodes, wondering when he will truly find happiness.
