This is the Barge. Everybody lies all the time anyway. This shouldn't be such a freaking pain.

I don't even know what taupe looks like.

Juuust gonna glance over the top of her communicator. "It sounds like the colour of boredom. Speaking of which, aren't you sick of this yet?"

Have some sass, Shego, because it's just been too long. "Of what? Not having a shower in your room when there's a perfectly good one in my quarters which you refused to stay in? Yeah that is kind of annoying."

"It's the dog. I like your dog." She reviewed that sentence and pulled a face. "Oh whatever, you know what I mean."

Jim laughed, because it was kind of funny that she was forced to tell lies that annoyed her, since honestly, it was Shego so she probably lied a lot anyway.

"The dog's with Cissie," he answered. "I like this flood."

She stared at him. "I seriously have no idea if you're affected or not."

"I captain the starship Enterprise," Kirk said without hesitating, faltering, or anything else that showed he had problems with telling the truth.

"Eh. Some people are saying it kinda pops up at random or if they're being asked direct questions." She ruminated. "What colour are your eyes?"

[captain_jtkirk]

"Blue," Kirk answered, looking downright smug.

[gotgreenmagic]

"Oh sure. You just had to get skipped over on this one. But I wouldn't derive any pleasure from you being affected and I'm glad you're fine."

She yanked at her hair in annoyance. "Argh."

That made him laugh again. "Are we friends again too?"

"Maybe. I mean, it's not like I'm worried that my issues have gotten too much for you and you're going to leave again, or that I feel like you're the only person who's ever gonna get me." Her eyes were wide but somehow, horribly, she was still talking. "I'd be fine starting this whole thing over with another Warden. Just fine. I don't trust you, and I don't care what'll happen next it turns out I was right to mistrust you."

That.. actually wiped the smile off of his face and he sat up straighter in his chair, more out of reflex than anything else. It was pretty much the first time since he got back that she was that brutally honest, in a weird way, and probably the most she's ever really shared with him ever.

But he had to be sure she really meant what was said, in light of a compulsive lying flood which made the whole thing a little hairy. So, test question.

"Are you dating Tim Drake?"

"No." She hesitated. "Actually, yeah, I guess we are. It's not the case at all that the Barge is a crappy place to carry out a relationship and what we actually do isn't 'dating' so much as the occasional evening spent hanging out and/or having sex like we've just got some lame friends-with-benefits thing going on."

Dark look.

"You. Know. What. I. Meant."

Kirk completely ignored that look she gave him. He put his PADD off to the side and stood up, heading over to her side of the room. That really told him all that he needed to know and it was hard not to be happy that Shego didn't hate his guts, though he was trying not to be smug about it.

He wasn't very good at not being smug. But he wouldn't push it in her face. Just loop his arms around her shoulders and give her a quick, tight hug.

"You still feeling sick from the Death Toll? Cause I think a drink sounds pretty good right now."

"No, I'm not." She rolled her eyes. "It's not too bad. Just go break out the liquor already."
