After the first round of
got_exchange we had a surprisingly successful comment fic meme going for a while (
here's a list of all the fics that were written last time), so I thought it might be fun to do this again. (Like last time, it's posted on the mod account journal because I don't want to enable anonymous comments on the exchange community.)

I love that Cersei's the one who hesitates because though she seems to be in control of the relationship in the present, she certainly stands as the more cautious of the two and if I really think about it (and tbh I didn't much before this prompt lol), if there was moment of doubt I could easily see it coming from her and not Jaime.
If Jaime enters her, truly claims her, they will never be able to make themselves forget. Before this, there was always the possibility, the idea in the crevices of Cersei’s mind that she might move on from this, that she might marry a man she loves and give herself to him willingly, that she might remember these secret trysts with her twin as nothing but childish games, something to recall with a wistful fondness and a hint of embarrassment.
ohh this is PERFECT. I love her idealism here (I mean, this is the girl who drew a picture of her and Rhaegar on a dragon after all *sighs*)--though I don't doubt that she has always been clever (and perhaps even far more worldly than girls of her standing would generally be), I do not doubt that a young Cersei would have had her ideals <333

I definitely feel that Cersei's the more pragmatic of the two- if things had gone differently (like if she'd married Rhaegar, for example, or if her mother had survived), I kind of doubt whether the physical relationship between the twins would have escalated to the point that it did. Even though the Jaime/Cersei relationship is in every way reckless and dangerous, Jaime's always the one willing to take it a step farther, while Cersei's got at least one foot (or one pinky toe...) grounded in reality. All part of the sad, sexy Lannister twin tragedy.
