I'm all sneezy and allergic and Julia Child is dead, just days short of what would've been her 92nd birthday, but I'm hoping that's all the badness the traditionally unlucky day has in store, mmkay?

Coq au vin, if you're using red wine (for which sweet vermouth is a pretty good cheap substitute) and chicken fricassee if you're using white wine. Coq au vin is pretty tasty... hmmm.

This recipe looks pretty okay. But Pava's got me all obsessed with chicken marsala now... and maybe I'll break my no-beef rule just this once and make a real French onion soup. Hmmm. Do I have ovenproof bowls so I can do the cheesy goodness topping? Hmmmm....

Chicken marsala is basically coq au vin made with port instead of red wine, and I might like it even better... hmmm.
