I can't believe this fic has finally come to an end!
It's amazing to look back at the beginning of the story, these two kids in detention, and see their relationship now. The pacing of the story and character development were carried out so well. I really felt like I was seeing these kids grow into young adults and I felt like you wrote about how they grappled with these kind of changes so realistically. I say this in every comment, but many aspects of this story remind me of my own experience with high school, graduation, moving to new places, and going to college. Since I feel so nostalgic every time I read the fic, I think that speaks to how realistically and emotionally you rendered these characters. With the final two chapters, you really see a shift in the characters' lives (passing down the club responsibilities and establishing their legacy in high school, graduation, first sexual experiences, anxiety about the future and who you're going to become). All of these themes were covered and they are definitely essential to any coming of age story, but I think you wrote about them so....it's hard to find the words... so gently? So many of these moments were bittersweet, clumsy (not your writing! the characters!), heartbreaking yet hopeful and loving. This balance between those two range of emotions reflects in your prose style and pacing, and that really impressed me.
I never really commented on a fic before so I had a lot of fun writing comments on almost all of your chapters. It's been so lovely talking to you and reading your replies. I'll definitely try to comment on your future fics and I'll keep an eye out for new ones! Thank you for such a wonderful story that truly enthralled me for weeks. <3
