[Castiel is all business at the moment, mostly because despite it being seemingly impossible for him to be a worse mood than he's been lately, he actually has managed it.]
Has there been any improvement in your condition?
[Her flat look would have a lot more flat in it if she didn't already look like death with wings.]
Do I look any better to you?
[Here, have a flat one right back. He doesn't look as bad as she does, but he's still clearly at less than 100%.]
Flippancy is unnecessary. Gabriel was unable to do anything?
[Oh, there's some venom in that one.]
No. All he could do was .. I dunno. Prolong it. Lucifer was the same.
[He doesn't bother to return it and in fact looks away, eyes cast to the wall as he thinks that over. This isn't good, at all. He has an idea, but it's a long shot, and he's not certain he can pull it off.]
If they can continue to stall the damage, I can find a way to fix it.
[She watches him warily.]
Can you now? I'm pretty sure something like this is unfixable unless we pop in on the Host. And I'm pretty sure there's a big door in the way for that.
[He glances briefly in her direction before looking away again.]
No, I can do it; I simply need the time.
[He couldn't go ripping out peoples' souls without planning and preperation and expect no one to notice or take exception to it, after all.]
[Somehow, she gets the feeling this could turn bad. Cas has been too.. different lately for him denying the actuality of things to be normal.]
No. [Point blank.]
[He looks at her again, eyebrows furrowed slightly, not understanding.]
No? [And he tilts his head slightly, looking both puzzled and irritaited at once.] You will die if something isn't done. You do understand that.
[She meets his confusion with nothing but stubbornness. It runs in the family.]
Just leave it alone. [I'll think of something on my own.]
[And now he's frustrated, as well as confused and worried and some other emotions he doesn't have the experience yet to identify.]
I have been, and look how well that's going.
[And Anna is perfectly okay with not looking at him, letting him fester in his unknown emotions.]
Screw off. [...And ad-lib curse words into an ancient language, apparently.]
[He, on the other hand just stares at her at that, suddenly switching languages as well.]
Eloquent.
[Still not looking at him.]
I told you to screw off. You're not doing anything stupid to fix this.
[He steps forward, close enough to be far within a human's comfort zone.]
I know exactly what I'm doing. You would rather die than trust my judgment?
[And not even a bat of an eyelash. She does however, turn to face him, glaring just as hard as he stares.]
I would. [Right now? Yeah.] I don't trust you as far as Dean could throw you right now, Cas.
[His expression doesn't change at her words, as even though they hurt, they don't hurt as much as he knows they should because he refuses to feel that strongly. He responds neutrally, but his voice has begun to echo faintly underneath the words of the ancient language.]
Why not?
[She pushes to sit up a little more, only just barely wincing in the process. Even that alone... She' slapped him with lack of trust and nothing. The echo is easy to ignore, even if it does cause a quiver of static in the corners of the image]

[He just narrows his eyes slightly and tilts his head again, almost like she's something interesting he's both annoyed and intrigued by.]
Of course I am. It's been years since you last knew me. Do you expect me to be the same after all I have done?
[He didn't understand, sometimes. He'd been asked to change by her, by Dean, by others... And then he had, and it somehow still wasn't right.]
