General Appearance: Lois Lane takes great pride in her physical appearance, working out frequently and often times needing that sort of physical vigor to keep up with her particular investigative style. Not what one might call willowy she still retains a decidedly female form but function is far more the point. Like everything in Lois' life, her body serves her goal: to find and report the truth. Her raven black locks are trimmed to easy styling in a sleek and timeless bob, clear blue eyes described as piercing by those unlucky enough to wind up being studied by them. Lois radiates an aura of control, power and cold professionalism outwardly. Those who know her best...well...see the section on things people don't know. She stands at 5'6" tall and weighs 120 pounds has dark hair which she dyes darker and violet blue eyes.
Other phyisical quirks: Lois is double jointed in her hips and thumbs and used to take pleasure in tormenting her younger sister Lucy by popping her thumbs in and out of join as she chased her around the barracks.
Special abilities: Ms. Lane is an amazingly talented reporter, she delegates research at times as she feels her talents are best used in the field, but she rarely fails to get her story. With a full knowledge of military structure and organization more a few times Lois has been able to insinuate herself in a military action even seeing time in the larger theater of war where she reported on the treatment of the troops overseas.
Relatives: Clark Kent (Superman, husband), Sam Lane (father, deceased), Ella Lane (mother), Lucy Lane(sister), Ron Troupe (brother-in-law), Sam Troupe (nephew), Jor-El (father-in-law, deceased); Lara (mother-in-law, deceased); Jonathan Kent (adoptive father-in-law), Martha Kent (adoptive mother-in-law)

Education: Lois Lane has a Masters from Met. U. with her major in Journalism, undergrad studies include a major in journalism (investigative) and a minor in literature. She was a reporter for the Met U newspaper the last four years she attended and was responsible for blowing the lid off a cafeteria money swindling scandal in her final year.
Tell us something we don't know: Lois Lane is a hopeless romantic, though she projects a strictly professional image she is a sucker for old romance movies and being swept off her feet. She is currently writing her second romance novel to be released under the pen name of Noel Neill.
History: Lois Lane was born in a U.S Army Hospital outside Wiesbaden, Germany to Sam and Ella Lane. Sam was a career military officer and Ella his devoted wife who supported him through the many moves involved in the career track he'd chosen. Sam wanted boys but instead was blessed with two daughters Lois and her younger sister Lucy. Boys or not Sam saw no reason why any child of his should be raised with out knowing how to take care of themselves. 'Lanes are tuff as nails and twice as driven.' Sam used to say, and instilled that same tenacity into his eldest daughter.
Constantly trying to prove herself Lois took on greater and greater challenges. Never bothered by moving every year or twice a year, Lois focused on her studies and the various combat training her father offered. Ensuing his little girl could take care of herself, to the inclusion of being able to throw knives with her toes, Sam allowed Lois to look for a job in her late teens when they'd moved back to the states.
Living just outside Metropolis, Lois took advantage of the huge city and set her sights on the one thing people told her she could never be. The news business was a boys club she heard, well that was just the thing to make her set her mind and off she went to meet up with Perry White, an editor at the Daily Planet, Metropolis' chief new paper. Impressed as he was with the girl he had no openings, undaunted Lois remained in the waiting area outside his office and refused to leave, when two reporters walked by complaining of being stone walled on a military story she knew she had her in. Offering to get the story in exchange for an internship to lead to a job, she left Perry no choice but to accept. She got both and thus started her association with The Daily Planet.
After finishing high school Lois attended Metropolis University and worked at the Met U Newspaper. Starting out in copy but working her way rapidly into columns and finally star reporter. Perry kept in touch, seeing something special in the girl and mentored her through her college years. Perry White became like a second father to her and told her upon graduation she had a job with the Planet whenever she decided to come back.
Once again Lois' instincts and tenacity paid off when she worked her way up from gossip, to traffic, to the human interest pages. Finally she made it, right where she wanted to be..Lois landed the coveted spot of City Beat reporter, a position that allowed her free reign over all of the biggest stories. She would have her pick..errrr...Perry's pick of the best news in Metropolis as well as unlimited resources and top priority over others. Lois spotted a talented but green photographer by the name of Jimmy Olsen and tagged him as her unofficial shutter bug when she needed one.
Lane had already made a name for herself when Metropolis was hit by the biggest news story since it was founded...a flying man. In a cape and tights no less! Lois was one of the first to run into the man...quite literally when he saved her, and others, from a helicopter crash. With her last ragged breath before she passed out in the big blue strangers arms she asked him for a story, only relenting to the feint after he'd said yes.
The Daily Planet and Lois became the exclusive writers of the Superman story, yes she had even named him. After all what does one call a man who can fly, lift tons without effort and make you swoon with just a glance? Super indeed. Not long after Superman was in her pocket, in a story sense, Lois was saddled with a partner from..of all places...Smallville Kansas. The name alone conjured images of corn fields as far as the eye could see and amber waves of grain. Which, as she soon learned, was fairly accurate. Annoyed with this turn of events, and even more so at having to share her beat with a new writer Lois took an immediate dislike to Clark. More so when he scooped her on his first story.
The antagonistic partnership was utterly one sided, as Clark never treated Lois with anything but respect and even admiration. For Lois her only joy was in ditching Clark to see to the exclusivity of her meetings with Superman..oddly he never gave her a problem with it. Over time Lois grew to accept Clark and his quirky small town charm, his reporting instincts were very good and aside from sporadic vanishing he was really an excellent partner..not that she would ever admit that. Also over time Lois grew more and more attracted to Superman, something which seemed to bother Clark whenever she brought it up.
After years of getting to know both men Lois came to a startling realization...she was in love. But with which man? Clark was sweet and kind and adored her while Superman was strong and amazing and simply a fairy tale come true. Lois withdrew from them both briefly to clear her head and solidify her affections, in the process falling into an armed gang who had vie plans for her. Superman saved her and flew her off in his arms. It was holding him and being close that set her resolve.
Though she loved him, he would never be hers...he belonged to the world and she could never ask him to be any other way. On the balcony of her apartment Lois broke the news to Superman and kissed him goodbye hoping to always remain close and special friends. The hero smile and said he understood and wished her well with her other love before he flew off into the night with the most odd grin.
Lois phone Clark that night and poured out her heart to him, fearing if she saw him in person she'd never have the guts to do it. They talked for hours and agreed to meet for breakfast the next morning. Lois was up early and waiting at the coffee shop where Clark arrived with a bouquet of flowers and an offer. ...would she be his girl friend. Lois readily accepted and the two began a strong and intense relationship. The other staff of the Planet applauded Lois for finally realizing what all of them had known all along.
Many adventures followed Lois and Clark and eventually Clark proposed to her, Lois agreed and hugged him but he was not finished. Making sure she had sat down Clark took her hands and revealed his dual life to her. Lois was set back in shock..how could she of all people not seen that? This put the plans of a wedding on hold until she could come to terms with it. Over the course of four months they worked out the issues and set the wedding date. Lois and Clark were married and off to the start of a blissful life.
Sort of.
Since the marriage Lois and Clark have faced ordeals and trials beyond any other couple, not the least of which was Clarks death at the hands of Doomsday. Unable to mourn her husband publicly Lois was suffering deeply. She went into a deep depression for months before Perry helped drag her out of it with the challenge of telling Superman's story. Lois plunged herself into the story and wrote emotionally packed articles about Superman and how he gave of himself to protect humanity. It was this series of fiercely potent columns that earned her the Pulitzer she'd been working for all her life.
Personality: Headstrong to the point of arrogance, intelligent, stubborn..Lois lane is some of the worst parts of a person..but she is also kind and resourceful. Often times working towards a goal for the many even if it seems as though she is only looking out for herself.
Writing Sample 1st person/journal style: So today was better. The Planet's grief councilor..did I mention we got one of those on staff now? Anyway he said that everyday will get better, and the pain never really goes away but you start to live around it whatever that means. I can't imagine that to be true, how this can ever get better or less painful. How can I ever not feel the void in my life without him. Maybe that whole thing is a crock and that is just how we as an animal deal with things, we let ourselves forget. I never want to forget though, I would rather ache for a lifetime then forget the blue of his eyes or the soft sweet smile he had. God I miss him, I miss him so much sometimes it's like I can't breath..and then I'll see some child with a doll..or a t-shirt pretending to fly..or maybe someone he's saved and I know even if he is gone he'll never leave us. Clark was hope, hope for the world and most of all hope for me. I'd like to break down and be nothing without him, I would love to wallow in self pity and cry every day..but he wouldn't want that. Clark made me a better person, he made me stronger and I refuse to insult his memory by being anything less than what he helped me to be. Maybe that's how we heal sometimes, we never forget or let go..we absorb and become. If so there was so much of him..maybe enough for everyone in the world to have a little piece of Clark Kent, I think the world would be a better place if we did.
Writing Sample 3rd person: Dark, dusty, dank and dirty...not the most creative imagery she'd ever given in her on going mental monologue, but it was fitting. The abandoned theater reeked of years of mold and wetness leaked from the ill repaired roof. No small favor in the holes that had let her scramble in this far. Lois had already narrowly missed a set of nasty two story drops before she found the maintenance ladder to let her down to the ground floor. Now she was padding, yes padding could be done in heels, around behind the back row of seats in the shadowy recesses of the theater. ">Opulent red velvet had given way to purple splotched fungus covered mounds only vaguely resembling the rows of seats they had once been. Brass that had gleamed bighting in the handrails and isle runners now was tarnished gray green lacking any luster of it's former self. Even the overhead chandelier had lost the sparkle of it's youth, the turn of the century icon had become yet another target for demolition. It was at a meeting to vote in the destruction of the Grande Theater that Lois had first heard that this might be a current stash for none other then Intergang. The global crime syndicate favored more plush surroundings usually, but the sheer size and lack of traffic to this place made it ideal. As did, Lois uncovered in a feverish late night research expedition, the tunnels that ran under the theater. They had been put in when Metropolis' first subways were being constructed and then cut off years later. They ran through out the city in disused spokes of commerce hundreds of feet below the city streets.
It was the perfect place for Intergang to hold operations. Too bad for them Lois had a nose for news, bright blues peeked out over the backs of the seats and scanned ahead of her. She had yet to see anyone, but the mass of fresh footprints in the dust, and the Krispy Kreme wrappers told her she was on the right track.
