Thoughts/Music Of The Day
I haven't had a very musically inspired day today :/ apart from cutting up some wires so you can play mp3 players in the common room :)
Seriously, I can't think of anything today which is fuckin' poor but still. So I'm going to try something different, I'm going to listen to a band for the first time now, then write about them (Y)
I'm going to go with Thrice, because I have heard good things about them.
First song I listened to (Stare At The Sun)

I'm impressed hah. I like the inrto, the guitars have a good sound, and an interesting delay. Sounds like Sunny Day Real Estate. The bass riff is badass and then when everything kicks in, Thrice have a really fat sound. The lead guitars pull off riff isreally catchy. The lyrics are really good too 'I am due for a miracle'.

This also is very good. Again their fat sound comes through, the drumming also very choppy and catchy. The band chant of 'We are the image of the invisible' really gives the song strucure, and the lead guitar riff again is very catchy, sounding alot like the guitar of Josh Farro on 'crushcrushcrush'. The bridge, where the song builds up to the shout of 'we are the image...' is very good, and then after that it goes straight into the chorus, which is powerful and really quite emotional. This song is actually amazing. the video is also proper badass :)
Last one (that I'm going to write about, definatley gonna listen more to these) is (The Artist In The Ambulance):

This is also amazing! It sounds a bit like All Time Low, but less gay. Lets face it, All Time Low are a bit of a girls band. Fat sound, amazing voice and they are writing about something that matters as opposed to what 87% of people my age listen to today (I'm 16).Rap. they sing about their bitches and pimps and cars powered by bitch juice and how much powder they snort.
Thrice are amazing :) lol
and now after writing that, I had inspirtation about a band I already adore :P
Story Of The Year are fucking amazing okay? :P Its not just their music, which is sick. Its like hardcore new found glory with some gallows and sum 41 thrown in. Its their live shows. backflips and shit. heres some examples :) :
