Were the Animus native to this world? And, what is this world, exactly? I assume it has a name beyond the city's name.
And these scientists haven't explained themselves, made any contact?

We used to be in contact with them a year or so ago, but they're gone. Whether they died or left or were destroyed, we don't know.

What had they said before they stopped talking with you? Were there any indications of a problem on their end of things? What were they like?
