this was fantastic! thank you so much for this delightful fic. jackson being competitive 'gotta win them all'!jackson is /so/ canon. whether it's gay chicken, fanservice to the nth degree, whatever he's got to win it. and then your jinyoung!! he's perceptive, complex and your jinson works so well bc while jackson is this gigantic force of determination ready to declare "gimme death or gay chicken", jinyoung is sneakier in how he executes his fanservice and as you said, he'll always be the one to play along with jackson's dumbassery and give it back as good as he's got.
also all the little cameos of all the other members. long suffering!jaebum is the greatest lol and then this whole segment:
Mark mouths, Gay. Chicken.
"What?" Youngjae, a diligent student of the English language, asks.
"Right," Mark says, finally tearing his gaze away from Jackson's. "Youngjae, repeat after me: Jackson is a dumbass."
i also really enjoyed your mark! i feel like a lot of people have pidgeonholed him as this tall/dark/mysterious shy hyung, but mark to me has always been kind of weird? idk he's clearly not the brightest, but he's still miles more perceptive than jackson when jackson is too busy scheming out his next greatest win over whatever.
Jinyoung scoots his chair closer to Jackson. "Jackson," he says, and suddenly his face is right in front of Jackson's, close enough for Jackson's brain to disarrange but Jackson won't let himself take this way out. He focuses on the white of Jinyoung's teeth, the wicked curve of his smile, all the rest of the perfectly Jinyoung features that make up his face. "Hey, Jackson. If I kiss you and there's no one around to see it, who gets the point?"
