The air conditioner picked a really bad day to get broken.

With temperatures up to the triple digits, the heat had sucked away the strength in Blair's body to get even out of her bed, let alone out of her room. She lied on her sheets like a rag doll, lifeless and empty, as beads of sweat seeped through her thin tank top and shorts.

Serena was just as energetic. Lying next to her best friend in nothing but an extra large tshirt and underwear, she stared mindlessly at the plasma screen TV mounted against the wall and flipped through channels robotically. Granted, they didn't have to spend their day baking in Blair's room - surely there were other places with working AC's but to get there, they would have to go outside.
