When Chuck dreamed, all he could see was her. The crowd would part and she would be standing there, her eyes only for him. A giggle would escape her lips and she would whisper into his ear that they should see the view from above. And they’d disappear, up onto the roof: their own special place. Her body would press against his, and she would lean in to kiss him, and time and time again without fail the second their lips would touch, she would disappear. With her, it was always just smoke and mirrors. He’d already blown his chance.
