Livestreams vs Not Live streams

DJs are rightly susceptible to a lot of shit depending on the degree to which their mixing requires effort.

If you're just putting music on, then you are playing recorded music. If you are mixing, that is a "live" act, as differentiated by the following:

1. Investing creative energy

2. Reciprocating energy of the listeners

3. Assuming the listener is hearing you as you do it, and not after the fact in a recording of your mixing, the energy is transmitted without being flattened

There is a lot to unpack in point 3. I want to do some research on that to learn more. In general my sense is it's related to consciousness of listeners, that there is synchronicity happening. Listeners are in the same moment as the DJ, and listeners are in the same moment as each other.
