Looking Up
So, life in general is starting to look better after a bit of a rough patch. My apologies to those I haven't talked to much recently ( Jen and Kevin specifically). I've been really unhappy with my job and such, so I neglected my friendships.
But, on to the looking up part! I gave my two week notice at the OG on Friday. I start training for my NEW JOB at Yia Yia's Euro Bistro this week! Yay! Anyone who wants to use me for my Olive Garden discount should invite me to dinner some time in the next two weeks. *wink*
The new job is, I think, going to be a much better thing for me. It's hourly, so I know what my income will be(about double what I have been making at Olive Garden). It's still in the restaurant industry, so I still get awesome discounts on food at several nice restaurants. It's a much nicer, more local place where I feel like I will be appreciated and moved into positions that will suit my skills. I'm starting out as the maître d' , and have been assured that someone with my level of education and experience can easily advance in this company.
In addition to this great news, I've spent some quality time recently organizing and decorating the second bedroom in our new place so that it is more functional. Brian and I bought some bookshelves for it and are picking up a futon tomorrow. Now we just need to hang some art and I will really feel like we are done "moving in". Expect to get an invite to a Housewarming party some time soon!
Best of all, I really feel like I'm reconnecting with Brian recently. Things have been stressful for both of us because of my crappy job and my unhappiness with my situation. It's so nice to feel that weight lifted from me and feel happier about, well, everything.
