Topic 54 - New Years Resolution
Sometimes I think it's fucking perfect that the four of us - Lilly, Duncan, Veronica and myself - were brought together. There are about a million different reasons why it's years later and all three of them still play pivotal roles in my life.
Lilly's been immortalized as my girlfriend despite years of being dead and weak attempts to move on. It's not even ironically shocking that Veronica Mars was the first person I fell hard for after Lilly. After all, when I think back on Lilly, I have to think back to Veronica too - both of them bubble gum sweet, candy pink lips singing along to Spice Girls. The dark side always had some pretty awesome shit.
Duncan has and always will be my best friend, no matter what. You know, he could leave all over again without saying goodbye just because it's too fucking hard and he'd still have that place. It hasn't been simple between any of us especially when it came to girls, but that doesn't mean anything. You boil down to it and there's always one friend you have in your life that isn't going anywhere even if they physically go somewhere.
Veronica is possibly the most complicated of them all. Either that or she's simple and I just complicate things. Maybe it's some shared thing we have all this past behind us and don't know where to put the future but it boils down to these two extremes of love and hate. We've never been good at the in between.
I guess my new years resolution is going to be some attempt to do the friendship thing with her, but honestly I can't help but wonder which one of us is going to be the first to go. Veronica or me.
