If you could choose how you were going to die, how'd you go?

We used to play this game when we were like twelve. We'd sit in a circle like horny morbid preteens as if we were playing spin the bottle, but played shit like "I've Never" and "How Would You Die". I still remember Veronica's answer and Duncan's answer and Lilly's answer. Mine didn't really change much either. Everyone has a way they prefer to leave this world or whatever, and for a lot of people that way is Sleeping. It's the big sleep. You go under and you don't feel any pain and you're just gone. It's not messy, it's peaceful and you haven't scarred anyone for life like dying in the middle of sex. Imagine that case of rigor mortis.

If I could choose how I was going to die I would go by an aneurysm. Just quick, something going wrong and it's not necessarily clean or neat. I don't think death should ever be clean. Death should be a lot like life, messy and painful. It makes sense. No one wants to be murdered. No one wants a bullet to the brain and no one wants an ashtray to the scull. When you're born, you don't consider the fact that one day jumping off a bridge might be your best opportunity to end the pain. That's life, though. Pain for fucking pain.

In reality, It doesn't matter how you die or who you're with because everyone dies alone and no one fucking wants to die alone. Three years later, and I still think the worst part of all of these goddamn deaths are the fact that it must have been so painfully lonely. Like, that's the core of death, right? You die and no one else can do that with you. It's just this individual experience that happens and no one knows what to expect. You can't believe the cracks that talk to the dead and say that death is peaceful. How can death be peaceful when life isn't? Basically, you don't know until you get there.

So, pretty much, I'll die of something absurd like loneliness.

Or murder. That's likely.
