In my world, it was obvious by the time that I was mid-way through my twenties that I would never have children. To be honest, I never wanted children due to my own family...history, and my genetic mutations as the Hulk. I thought I'd put that behind me.

When I met you here, I was in the process of making life decisions for myself that made me wildly uncomfortable. I was trying to be a person I had never been before, stronger and less selfish. My anxiety was almost unmanageable, so I---I hired you to take care of some things. I thought that the working relationship would end at the end of the day and hoped that I'd be able to endure having you in my personal space (something I'm not notoriously good about).

But you have always been kind and non-judgmental and you wanted---you were the first, really, the very first, who wanted to know who I was. You accepted the Hulk and accepted me. It gave me hope that I was a man worth that kindness.

So I'm grateful to you, Katherine. I'm grateful to you for taking a chance with me and accepting me into your life. I'm grateful for you. Knowing you has made me a better person, I feel. If I were ever to have children, I would consider the whole thing a success if they ended up being even half so good as you are.
