Been listening to my inFAMOUS soundtrack today and got one of the songs stuck in my head all day.

So what should I do? Infect you all with the song too. DUH. That and I actually have an excuse to show you this old kickass trailer, if that's cool with you guys.

If anyone's actually into the song (which is pretty long uncut), it's called Malabar ( Read more... )

I AM POOR

I AM TRYING TO APPLY TO GRAD SCHOOL.

AAAAAAAGjdsljf I miss being able to play video games D: I had the fortune to play Prototype at NY Comicon last year and was just absolutely blown away by the gameplay (and also caused several boys to stare at me in awe as I did better than all of them at it).

they gave me a free t-shirt ^^

and then I baww'd because I could not afford.

TL;DR why don't we have mr grumpy plaguemaster in a hoodie yet :(

Awwww, hun. I'm sorry to hear! I hope I'm not, like, making you feel bad or anything skdhfkasx2.

Also, both Prototype and inFAMOUS gameplay are spectacular. Just different, obviously. Hence why I... could probably go into a rant about people comparing the games since the only real similarities are the fact that the games are superhero sandboxes with characters with identity issues (sort-of). NOT THE POINT THOUGH.

I wondered that too. D8 I didn't care much for Alex's character (well, personality) in general but I love people's interpretations of him in RP and all cuz I got to play with an actually pretty cool Alex in dear_mun.

argh that goddamn icon XD

ANYWAY

Hence why I'd love to play both :D LASERS AND THEN PLAUGEDEATH, HOOBOY :D

Yeah, I can see that from what I've read, but I'm kind of fascinated by some of the implications of what he is which I will not say as it is MASSIVE SPOILERS LAWL. And that's cool :D

HO HO.

BOTH ARE AWESOME, though I kinda lean toward inFAMOUS more, I dunno. But it's not like I don't like Prototype either.

Don't worry about spoilers. Like said, I played and beat the game. So I know what he is. Without spoiling anything for you, hm... what he IS is really interesting. But his personality itself is kind of bland imo.

okay you know what let's get this out here

HE IS THE GODDAMN VIRUS I READ THE TROPE PAGE K

And yeah, that's the impression I got. He is Generic Dark Anti Hero (Anti Villain? Omnomnom guy?) which is Boring, but the whole Is The Virus thing I think would be interesting to roleplay. and it's entirely possible to take vanilla characters and give 'em depth. So... idek.

OKAY WHEW THAT'S BETTER

Yeah, he's the Blacklight Virus, Zeus, etc. The real Alex Mercer is dead and an asshole, though uh that's not much to say compared to the virus that's using his persona as a disguise just like it can anyone else in the city.

He's painted as an anti-hero but the game kinda does a poor job at portraying him as such. He more just comes off as an amnesiatic ax-crazy dude. The plot's kinda weird about it, though I could go on about how the plot could have used work. ... Well, despite my bitching about the character and the plot I really did like the game. Bits and pieces of the storyline were interesting to me and I loved the gameplay. But back to the point, totally agreeing with you there.

/JUMPS IN UNINVITED

One of the big things I really wished they'd touched on more about him is the fact that he's got all the memories of everyone he's ever consumed floating around in his head. He doesn't just gain instant knowledge about what's going on in the city or how to drive a tank -- he's got everything they've seen and done. He even says he can hear them. That has got to mess you up. It's hard enough living with yourself, sometimes; how do you deal with living with hundreds of others? That's the real nightmare fuel of the game, to me, and it's probably why he seems to get a little less completely sociopathic later in the game.

They mentioned it once. Like, once. Just the whole "SO MANY MINDS, ALL TALKING ALL DYING" thing when you have to consume infected people and Alex is obviously hurtin'. But they never touch on it again so pretty much what you said.

IT'S THE MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT HIM (except for the parkour and transformation powers, those are pretty awesome) AND IT'S THE ASPECT NOBODY SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT >':

PRETTY MUCH, hence why I said I prefer different people's interpretations of the dude.
