[Looks up, setting the magazine aside for now.]

Kitty! Hi.

[Kitty supposes in retrospect, she is kind of an adult now, too. Working on a career, getting married-- where has her youth gone? With Mrs. Altman, though, she feels just like a kid again.]

They finally let me out of the library for two minutes so I could get some fresh air. How are you?? I haven't seen you in a while.

[justlikeherson]

[Sarah laughs.] It's been too long.

I'm good. I've been busy, but haven't we all?

[Kitty flops down next to her, only now noticing the magazines. Oh Sarah. Why so cute.

... was SHE looking to get married?]

Working on my PhD is taking longer than I expected. Considering I breezed through school as a kid, I kind of had a big ego about it. But I'm getting there little by little.

How about you?

[justlikeherson]

[Sarah notices Kitty's glance at the magazine and smiles, knowingly. It's probably ten times less effective/foreboding than normal, just because she knows Kitty's planning on getting married.]

Mmm. Things have been pleasant. Of course I'm still working for Dr. Banner, but I've been working with the kids at Selina's orphanage a lot, too. It's been rewarding. And all the kids are doing well. Duck got the lead role in the production her company's putting on, and Sasami's doing well in school. The other kids are all busy with school or their jobs. It's been nice.

[Getting married in Vegas was totally enough, Sarah. Promise. Kitty is trying hard to avoid the whole HUGE WEDDING scenario if she can help it.

... probably will be impossible, though. Still, she tries to pretend she doesn't see the magazines.]

Oh wow! You've been doing good things. I still see Dr. B like, every week. He gets so lonely without me around.

[): Sarah likes weddings and wants to go to some. You can't blame her for trying.]

He talks about you a lot. I know he misses having you around, but he's also very proud. [A smile.] For that matter, so am I. Getting your PhD is very impressive.

I miss hanging out with you guys, too. I'll have to come over more often.

You should. We'd love to have you. [A sly smile here.] You should bring your young man, too.

So you can bombard him with wedding magazines?

[Sarah laughs at that too.]

Gently nudge them in his direction, maybe.

Very subtle, Mrs. Altman. Right now a big wedding is kinda... it's not that it's not a nice thought-- it really is-- but you know. After traveling and not having a steady job and...

[There is a pause there.]

Extra expenses coming up, it's just going to have to be pushed to a future time.

I understand. It's nice to imagine, though.

[A slightly quizzical smile.]

Extra expenses? With school?

[Kitty is now looking at the magazines with a renewed sense of interest, trying not to look Sarah in the eye. So awkward.]
