things olesia does instead of folding laundry

hey guys what's up

So as some of you may know, a couple years back I wrote a tutorial on auto-labels in gmail re: sorting tags by character so you don't have to. I have no idea how many people use this now, but I think it probably counts as a success.

Well, this isn't the only "convenient" thing I do to save time with RP, thanks to firefox add-ons I didn't make and posting clients I didn't program, so some people have asked me to tell them how I do all this other crazy stuff (like post entries while I'm asleep. Yes, I have done this). So. I'm getting into tutorial mode. I'm thinking of starting with the Livejournal Add-on for Firefox/Chrome, but the thing is... it is huge.

Huge.

What I'm trying to figure out is:

✤ Should I write this where I explain *everything* this add-on can do, and let readers figure out how to do the specific things they want / ask all the questions;
or
✤ Compile a greatest hits list and simply write step-by-step instructions for that, and let them fuck around with / ignore everything else;
or
✤ Just customize my own to be "accessible" to the general RPer, then export my settings and let people download and install that?

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's this thing. It's pretty sweet. You know how I do acceptance notices? I post a comment that just says and let it fill in the rest. I can reply to comments and entries from email and still select icons. I can watch comments without notifs. I can unfold entry cuts without going anywhere. I can expand all comments on all pages of an entry with one click. (Sure the load time is a pain but still)

So yeah, let me know what you guys think. And if you want, you can pass this around to other people you know, since... well. Considering the number of times I've seen the gmail thing get passed around without me having to dig it out myself, I don't doubt people out-of-game might be interested. (Yes, it's possible to program in a shortcut for homestuck text, too.)

Oh and I guess if you have any questions about it now, I can field them and then patently abuse them for the inevitable complete write-up.

... Does anyone else even have this add-on?

this entry probably makes no goddamn sense to anyone

firefox addons are the best, olesia fails to keep normal hours, stuff, goddamn lj, tagged this for you, fuck yes, leah is going to shank olesia, sparkles are always on the menu, c&c: we are literate, brownies are a breakfast food
