(no subject)
So I just got back from seeing Batman Live in Birmingham! It was... quite an experience. And naturally, one I want to share!
As a disclaimer/warning, I was filming these on my cellphone and, despite it being HD, it did NOT like the stage lighting, plus my hands were not always that steady, and then lol youtube. So I apologise for blurring / shakiness / my dumbass commentary.
Oh the Graysons :c And Dick doing some flips. Not pictured in detail: Mr. Grayson's package. I SWEAR TO GOD, THE ANGLE I WAS AT, WHEN HE WAS AT THE FRONT OF THE STAGE he had this long sparkly white cape that didn't quite fall all the way closed AND IT JUST FRAMED HIS GREEN TIGHTS JUNK. it was a little distracting.
Catwoman! THIS FIGHT I DON'T EVEN. Also interesting to note, when I read the program, it mentioned that Catwoman and Martha Wayne are played by the same actress.
Which means batman later makes out with his mother.
Good job, guys.
Dick manages to get himself captured, tied up, and held hostage before he even becomes Robin. And yes, he hangs around tied up for like five solid minutes. THE START OF A GRAND TRADITION.
This is the last one - I thought the freaky Joker head and staff-fighting were worth grabbing, but unfortunately, before any real fighting began, I got caught by a steward and had to put my phone away. Sob.
So it was actually really enjoyable and only a bit camp, and no musical numbers! A little ridiculous still but idk, it could have been a LOT worse. Babs was mentioned, Alfred got a round of applause for walking on stage, Dick was kind of adorable... and so was Bruce when he was talking about his car pffff. IT HAD ROCKETS AND LASERS. And Dick's Robin costume didn't look too bad, in action on the stage. Though they totally trolled, when Alfred revealed the costume and lowered it down on wires for Dick to look at it was just the tunic, so it was like WILL IT BE SHORT PANTS WILL IT no.
I will see about maybe scanning my program and adding pictures in later comments like, tomorrow, if anyone would like :3
