Why Ireland, indeed!

Alright, so once I woke up and assimilated "gosh, that horrible allergic reaction to your wig cap is STILL marring a whole swath of skin on your forehead, there's no way you can be seen in public like this" right before I went and got the spackle... I had another good day. The kids behaved well enough, and those that began to get out of line I barked at and they clammed up. Seriously, you raise your voice and hint that you might, MIGHT, send an unofficial note home to the parents and silence falls over the room like it was f'ing dropped.

I'm supposed to be this math teacher (sixth grade pre-algebra, not too bad) for two weeks, unless something happens. They'll be interviewing for about six or seven new teaching positions within the next day or so. Two or three I want, all of them I applied for. Why the hell not? Got a resume in the principal's mailbox, and she herself walked in on my class mid-lesson (apparently she just does that) and saw me dishing out equations to pin-drop quiet students. YES.

I'm always afraid of interviews. Usually I can pull myself together and do very well, but in casual conversation I wind up with something like this coming out of my mouth. Oh yes, that is completely and totally me. I'll hopefully wind up permanently employed at this school (which is wonderful in and of itself!) and then I can wear something like this shoe and get away with it. So who knows?

Everyone at ETN this weekend already knows the kind of shirts I can be spotted as sporting on Sundays. Those I have to save for after school, tee hee.

And yes, the event was good. I hated the drive with every bitter bilious fiber of my body, but at least I got in more game time than I spent driving. One way. Er. I hope gas prices go down soon, or that someone rides with me. I missed out on a couple of scenes I would have probably really enjoyed, but at least got other things going my way.

"You put pudding in the manicotti, didn't you?"

More on developments as they develop.
