I don't have the heart to deal with all the serious crap right now. So we give you the following.
So aside from nerdity, on Friday night I wound up doing the 'Fest thing. This included the anniversary at Willows, with photos below (free cake and goodies!), and dining at Trigo (review to follow shortly). After that, my feet hurt from my shoes so I went home. Q: What's the second-fastest fix when your jeans are 2" too long? A: Compensate with 4" high heels. And then have extra-sore feet the next morning.
Then today, after sleeping in (and feeling not so great about it), I reminded Jojo about the Jambalaya Jam. That's the thing at the park by the Krewe of Massalina. We dressed up purple-green-gold, wore the most-bedecked hats I could find, along with all the beads we could drape about ourselves. Got LOTS of eye tracks, and more than a couple of pictures taken! As much as it was hyped, the actual event wound up being very small, so a lot of low-key downtown fun needed to be had. We even wound up back at Willows (addicted, much?) for tea.
That might be one of the reasons that my weight is not going down as I would like; not only is my passes-for-a-job sporadic and stressful, I've been introduced to new delicious fatty pastry filled places that I want to give my business to! Time on my hands and money in them is a bad combination.
Pictures!
The flag.
The interior. Usually the tables are not like this, of course.
Cups for a cuppa!
Current owner made this cake herself! But not the McVitles biscuits.
Left to Right: The current owner (1 year), the previous owner (9 years), and the current owner's mother.
Lighting the candles, and grandmother.
Yes, more people did show up throughout the afternoon. I was just first! All rights reserved.
