Koan

I ran into this twice today, in various forms. Both of them put in the context of humor - while funny from one angle it's more thoughtful from another.

-
A young Monk came to a wide river, he looked for a place to cross and found none. He sat and contemplated how to cross this wide river in his path. He walked the banks of the river looking for a solution.

He saw, sitting peacefully on the other bank across the river an older Monk. He called out "Do you know how to get to the other side?"

The older Monk looked at the younger monk from across this wide river and called back, "You are on the other side."

The younger Monk became enlightened.

I would explain my thoughts on this but the answer/result of a Koan is at least two things:
1) Personal
2) Different for everyone

and possibly a third:
3) Irrelevant once concluded

For now, I think a small bowl of ice cream is a good idea. Namaste.
