j hill's mark of the vampire queen

it occurred to me today that i may be looking a bit too harshly at the books i'm reading. the case of wanting what's in front of me to be what i just finished or more of something from a particular author that i won't be getting. or maybee i've finally read so many books that i'm developing a seasoned opinion on writing, rather than simply consuming any pulp that falls to hand.

that being said, i'm not sure if i should finish this piece of trash i'm in the middle of from half price books. it's vamprire romance. a fae vampire hybrid has found the her soul-mate reincarnated, in the form of a vampire hunter, but only as she contracts a the deadly vampire virus that no one knows how to cure. and she can shape shift, and that could alienate her from current vampire culture if they found out.

so far it's too many plot twists for the speed of the book, the author can't hope to do something with all of them if unless she picks up the pace... it's more politics than action, and there's a reason i've never fucking got into kushiel's dart. nightwatch and it's brethren travesty's remain on my kitchen table. i really need to improve my house and burn them... or something.
