caught a screener of defiance yesterday. it rules.

daniel craig takes off during wwII and manages to remain hidden with a crapton of jews in the forest. it was awesome. the director is some dude that did shakesphere in love and some other films I've heard a lot about but never seen. i'm not generally one for drama, but this ruled.

the seattle jewish society, or something like that, had arranged for the dude to be there for a question and answer session. it ruled. the man has a rambling way of talking and they asked him some kick ass questions about translating this story he'd heard of from a historical account into it's fictionalization. 12 years he'd been pitching this movie to people, rewriting it 4 different times as he'd found out more about the two brothers the story centers around, including more and more truth of the times in it. it fucking rocked. I'll buy it when it comes out on dvd, and the damn thing isn't even released into theaters until january.
