fucking dd-wrt
so i said i'd help the hot masseuse @ my work fix his router. not fix it, but flash it with dd-wrt because he needs something to plug into his xbox-360 to receive the signal i'm broadcasting from the clinic out of the hacked fon router i've set up. not a bad thing. we're on the heels of trying to use the actiontech gt701-wg as a wireless receiver [fail], but... um. well he bought the thing off of craigslist and tried to flash it with his mac.
apparently he refuses to install fucking torrent and none of the sites he went to to get the tftp server would allow him to download it. no major issue here, i have my own mental trainwrecks when it comes to computers, but fuck man, FUCK. now i have a half flashed router on my hands and vague instructions on where he left it in the install process. niceynice? not sure. i wound up needing to by pass my [free] dynex hub becasuse i have to reboot he damn thing every time i plug in a new connection. not bad if you never make a lan change, but i explore too much of hardware shit to deal with it. need a new router.
so on with it. he said it was pingable, but he couldn't' get back in after step 8 of of_this so now it's time to fuck up another router. pingable eh....
