(no subject)
today was awesome. practice was full of strangeness, the stage is too small for stilt beasts, so mainly i'm a card tech for jen, but i get to buffet her around with other techs and also push the primary alice off stange screaming random obsceneties while i do so. I'm working on my faces again for the acro scene. i don't do anything impressive there as a child of heart, but i'm pondering some random sub-redqueen childisness that can be conveyed by face. maybe i can get a cat o nines and whip the jugglers or the hedgehogs as the scene progresses. i like that idea
i'm still getting a lot of supprised looks from the rest of the cirkus. i've never really taken the time to talk to them before and i don't think they expected me to be such a spazz. HA. you can't stop me from being me, i'm too strong willed for that. hell, that's half the reason i love being a carnie, i don't have to put that venier of civility around myself... though really, from talking to my friends at work, i can tell the venier is really really thin and transparent and stuff \m/X_x\m/ one should never sublimate one's self to a primary under protest, only by choice.
fire practice showed a scene that's *really* starting to come together. i still can't believe some of the shit i keep seeing in this script. who *is* this person who wrote this? it's so half assed it makes the viet nam war look organized and massively successfull. how the hell were we supposed to portray some of this shit on stage. she's written scripts before? not good ones, at any rate, not if this is anything to judge by. heh, in nearly every scene I've worked in we've hucked 90% of it and just run with what works. our climax scene could use some work, though we've got everything *basicly* in it right now.
anyways. i need to get a copy of gotterdamerung. the germanic mythos seems to paralel the norse one a lot, at least the books i'm reading say so. if i don't however, the text i have pretty much has an exact boiled down version of ragnarook in 3 paragraphs. i just think that if i took the first thing i found and used that i'd be loosing some zest, or possible depth to the idea. >:/ i need more background.
