Sitting here at the library with eighty minutes on the clock means I really ought to be able to produce some kind of coherent/meaningful post, but let's be honest: today, post-field trip, has been a Planet Pumpkin Castle day. Brain's checked out and is sitting somewhere in the sun, amiably twiddling its thumbs and beaming vacantly off into space. Which is pretty much the sum total of my ultimate desire right now. Insert/redact a whole lot of petulant whining about "where is the time for me in my life?" tediousness/tension headaches about a mini-implosion of what-nots, and seesawing between feeling kind of demoralized (viz., Dietrich's line in Touch of Evil about having already used up whatever future one had) and rolling my eyes at my own melodrama (I'm not going to talk about it! Except for the part where I'm going to talk about it very vaguely! etc)
OH BLESS ALL THE PUPPIES THEY ARE RE-RELEASING JURASSIC PARK NEXT YEAR AFTER ALL
Bread and circuses, indeed. So apparently I have no problem with gleeful avoidance of grim reality when I can do it at the movies. It's almost like a confessional! But with popcorn! Having saved myself the cost of at least one decent therapy session means parcelling it out on cinematic indulgences is entirely sensible and mature, yes.

In recent events,
frozenemerald and I made it (1) out of the house and (2) among the general public last Saturday/St Patrick's Day for the first time in who knows when. (After a prolonged tense early afternoon where by god I was going to finish a sewing project, of some kind, or have a cackling meltdown, and did!, and L patiently waited and knotted my threads for me.) We: walked through a glass/art shop (I didn't break anything!), walked through the park, saw a juggler, bought more Girl Scout cookies, TOOK A TROLLEY RIDE, and finally supped in a "gastropub." Also, there was a retail weekend including
spiritedartist the weekend prior. We (1) bought things, (2) broke out my Travel Bingo game, and (2b) decided we need to make a Redneck Travel Bingo analogue, because really, yes.

The "huh?" section: have run out of time to Google but thinking about this while watching JP over the weekend: since it's always fun to play "where else did he use that?" when listening to a JWilliams score, I wonder if someone has actually made some kind of spreadsheet/chart determining exactly that.

In conclusion: avoidance through cinema: solves everything.

I can't believe I left out the Crazy Tape Worm Conversation we inadvertently stumbled into. No time now, either!
