vaznetti, among others, "It's so much easier to read my friends list than to think of something to write -- and the less I write, the more I need to write when I finally do get around to updating." Yeah, that, so much. It's sad and telling when pulling together an LJ post requires more mental energy/stick-to-itiveness than I've been able to summon lately. Alternately, maybe the song for this needs to be "Back in the Saddle Again."
Things I've been working on or meaning to:
--updates on school and weekends with the girls
--the deeply awesome mail surprise from
alocution, with pictures
--stuff I've been reading, (ex: Megan Whalen Turner's Queen's Thief series,
alocution's surprise, the Kurosagi Corpse Delivery manga that I got sucked into, etc etc)
--the icon post that I started like three months ago for
frozenemerald So, just going to copy
clairdeluney here:Step 1: Put your iPod on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Let everyone guess what song and artist the lines come from.

I ended up loading all of my music files, just to see what I had (which necessitated skipping a bunch of instrumental-only pieces (also skipped artist repeats and songs with the title in the first line);
naeelah, now that you've got internet at home again, you should totally do a soundtrack music game), and is this ever fun/useful for also playing the "where did that come from?" and the "jeez, why do I still have that?" weeding-out game.
Reading these, it's impossible not to think of, do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable? Or am I miserable because I listen to pop music? (Sub-question, is it better to burn out than to fade away?)
