LJ does not have rewatchability, Romulan, or steepling in its spellcheck dictionary.
TV I have consumed this week, aside from the usual American Justice/Cold Case Files/Forensic Files OD I'm constantly courting:
- Heroes (6.55/10): not a rabid fan, but it was entertaining/okay. I am thoroughly enjoying the_grynne's Heroes/PotC crossovers, Worldly Appetites and Sore Eyes.
- House (8.8/10 with 10 being Three Stories): copperbadge sez "House MD is constantly skating along the very rim of the abyss that is shark-jumpage. And yet it still hasn't actually toppled over. I want whatever mojo the writers have." Yeah, the ducklings are coming back, but if they weren't, having to have more Wilson time would ease any possible resulting pain. Kidnapped, tortured guitars for the win.
- Bionic Woman\Criminal Minds: unrelated, but I was flipping back and forth, so they get a collective (6/10), for (1) Katee Sackhoff's ambiguous BW 1.0, (2) Mark Sheppard, in yet another Evil Dude turn, but that's okay because he's good at being bad, and (3) nerdy Reid.
- Life: (5.37/10) for the pilot in general, (8.5/10) for Captain Winters Forsyte. His dialogue was overly quirky, but he's good enough that he sold most of it.
- Grey's Anatomy (5.83.9/10): Hard to tell if they've recovered yet from the second half of last season. There was an awful lot of preachy self-righteousness and whining and sudden incompetence being smeared around, and I swear I remember this show being fun at some point. It's never scored high on the rewatchability factor, though, so who knows. Should they find it necessary to jettison everybody but Christina, Alex, and Lexie, I would be okay with that.
- Mad Men (9/10, pending my actually watching it in its entirety): More Joan is always good. I covet the women's clothing on this show in an Old Testament-level sin kind of way. I was rooting for (Person A) to shut the door on (Person B) at the end, but tangled webs make for better drama. That (real) Kennedy ad was hilarious.
- I didn't watch enough of it to review, but hey, James Marsters is doing an extended guest on Without a Trace.
- There's a Bones/CSI date with Adam at some point in my future.
I am unabashedly looking forward to the new season of L&O:CI, although I miss the Balcer-written eps/characters of the earlier seasons.
Following up on
naeelah's
Rorschach test post at last.
Ze blotz.Answering "Satan eating a baby" to any of these would probably indicate a low level of mental health, right?
[1] Two big-eared piglets on either side of the vertical fold. What?
[2] Unoriginally, two red-hatted, black-suited people sitting palm to palm.
[3] A weird, nonhuman face. Two persons in tuxedos half-bending toward a table between them. Something in the vein of Avatar's angry panda alter-spirit.
[4] A boar's head. Or a really dramatic low-angle shot of a giant-footed yeti standing on hind legs with a big tail for balance.
[5] A snail-head with moth tails and bottom-heavy wings.
[6] A really distorted Romulan bird of prey. This is me covering my face in shame.
[7] Two bunnies sitting rear to rear, with their paws out behind them.
[8] Red bears running up to the top of a mountain. Or a helmeted, neckless figure with red gloves.
[9] A Chinese dragon.
[10] Artfully arranged and prepared vegetables. The blue splotches look like crabs with a big green claw. Although the little blue thing in the middle really does look like a brassiere.
Instead of pointless trivia (although if you win Jeopardy because of that triple point one, I want my cut), how about some vocabulary? This is not me cackling and steepling my fingers.
