So, after the upcoming hue and cry dies down about the law change...
I wonder what would happen if all of the candidates for principal of an order were to ask their Majesties when they are told "It's you":
"Before I accept this position, I ask one question, was I the preferred candidate of the majority of the Order?"
Then, if told either no, or told "it doesn't matter, I want you in there", if they said "I'm sorry, I cannot accept without the support of the Order".
It'll never work...but wow, that would be an interesting kettle of fish...
