I wonder sometimes if "deeply lived" is sometimes mis-interpreted to mean "deeply self-involved to the exclusion of empathy or understanding for others."
Then again, people who mis-understand that part of the quote either honestly or wilfully, probably don't really get Anais Nin, and also probably aren't on my F-List :-)
