Hello !

I've not updated my LJ for quite a long time, i'm really sorry. I've been busy with my studies.
Today is Kurosagi's theater release ne ? Lucky Japanese people !~~

My dad went to France yesterday, business trip and he said he'll go to London too so i jumped on the occasion and gave him a list of japanese magazines i want - maybe he'll find some - Well at least something ! Even a button i don't care LooL.. am i hopeless ? o_O
Anyway, here are some reviews of the latest movies i've watched : a french movie entitled Odette Toulemonde, an american movie entitled In the Valley of Elah and an indian movie entitled Bombay To Bangkok.

I've also watched another korean movie Memories of murder but i don't feel like writing about it... hmm if you want to know.. great but weird movie.. haha... yeah i know it helped you soo much... xP

French movie directed by Eric-Emmanuel Schmidt; with Catherine Frot, Albert Dupontel, Jacques Weber, Fabrice Murgia, Nina Drecq,...

It's the story of Odette, a widow who is raising her two children (one crazy girl Sue Ellen and a gay Rudy <-- so sweet <33). She could have committed suicide many times if she had'nt discoevred the books of Balthazar Balsan. Ever since she is a fan and happy (her behaviour is so funny : singing all the time and imagining stories...). When she finally can meet him all she wants is to make him happier as he does to her with his books.

This movie was adorable ! Catherine Frot is one of the most talented and accurate and pleasent french actress i know ! Personnally i'm never disappointed in her acting and it's the same there. She personalized Odette Toulemonde (= Odette Everybody = game word) perfectly. It's adapted from a book which i haven't read so can't tell if it's a good adapatation or not.
This movie makes you laugh and smile and happy and cry.. The perfectness of French Movie ! Wish there could be more of movies like that !

Directed by Paul Haggis, with Tommy Lee Jones, Charlize Theron, Susan Sarandon, ...

In Monroe, Texas, Hank Deerfield, an aging warrior, gets a call that his son, just back from 18 months fighting in Iraq, is missing from his base. Hank drives to Fort Rudd, New Mexico, to search. Within a day, the charred and dismembered body of his son is found on the outskirts of town. Deerfield pushes himself into the investigation, marked by jurisdictional antagonism between the Army and local police. Working mostly with a new detective, Emily Sanders, Hank seems to close in on what happened. (source : Imdb)

This movie was heartbreaking. All the actors' performances were stunning and i love the title.. Thoughout the whole movie is punctured the metaphor of David fighting Goliath in the valley of Elah.. in this case.. many David (the young american soldiers) aren't able to succeed defeating Goliath (the war). Brilliantly directed !

Indian movie directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, with Shreyas Talpade, Lina Christianson, etc..

Shankar (Shreyas Talpade), a petty thief, in desperate need of money, steals from the local don and escapes his way into a team of doctors heading for relief work to Bangkok. Unfortunately, he loses the all-important money bag in the chaos. In Bangkok, his world turns upside down at a massage parlour where he bumps into Jasmine (Lena Christensen). The hitch is, she is all Thai and he can't converse with her at all. ( source : Wiki)
It  was a cute movie. It was interesting the kind of lost in translation theme... Funny movie but too long so it got boring sometimes. I love the echos to other Subhash Ghai movies like the constantly song as a background "Ek haseena thi" and "Aashayein". Overall an entertaining movie thanks to whch i learned some indonesian thai words ! Great ! ^^
