Where is Reunion Island located ?
To begin with this LJ let's locate from where i am writing, alright ?
L'île de la Réunion in french, Reunion Island in english, is a french department it's called a DOM (overseas french department). As you can see in the map it's located between Madagascar and Mauritius. Yes it's the tiny tiny point in the middle. There are beaches and mountains. Tourists often come because it's great to hike. It has got an active volcano Le Piton de la Fournaise.
You have probably (or probably not) heard of Reunion island because of the chikungunya.. the mosquito's bad influence. Be relieved it's over and it was not so catastrophic as the media exaggerated... By the way it wasn't only here.. anyway...
You may have heard (or may not) about Reunion Island because the new Miss France 2008 is Miss Reunion. Her name is Valerie Bègue.
