Operation: Morning Glory

Mission: Accomplished

That was the hardest that I've ever worked in my entire life... Alright, first I better backtrack to last night..

As those of you in the area well know, there was one helluva storm last night. Whenever there is lightning, I'm not allowed to go out and get carts.. The storm lasted several hours, ending after we had already closed for business. There were a LOT of carts still out there.. So instead of keeping me there all bloody night, the plan was changed to just tidy up the area a bit and leave it there for the morning.. And I'd come in at 7:00 AM to fix things up then...

So, I hit the ground running today. I ended up finishing that task at 8:20, went to watch an instructional video that we've all gotta watch (I SWEAR I've done that one before...must've been changed recently or somethin'), and then took my break. When I returned, business had already begun to pick up..and we weren't even open to the masses yet; only Business Members were allowed in at the time. It went downhill from there.. I've been running on adrenaline all day, and was only barely able to keep a somewhat decent amount of carts in the bay while constantly working at it. Oh yeah, and that nifty cart-pushing machine we have is broken; ignition switch is screwed up. So I had to do all of this manually... And alone for most of the day (another cart associate came it at 1:00 PM). I've only got one word to describe how intense work was today: ZOMGWTFBBQ! x.x

And to top things off, I was supposed to leave at 3:30, but ten minutes before then, we got two back-to-back requests for help loading furniture into trucks.. When we finished with that (3:35), the carts were down to critical level.. So I kicked into Overdrive. I had Amanda take point while we grabbed every bloody cart we could get our grubby hands on and I just chugged like a freight train engine to push those suckers in. In five passes, we had that entire ****ing parking lot practically CLEAR. We went from 1 row to 4 in a matter of 25 minutes (Manually pushing on an extremely busy Saturday, that's inhuman)...and GOOD LORD am I tired now. But I did it. I gave them something to work with until the next guy comes in at 4:30.. I just hope he's motivated enough to keep up like I was. Have fun, Amanda & Robbie. It's tough out there today. >.>;;

I'm proud of myself.
