Haven't been exactly incommunicado, but drowning in a sea of my own garbage--we got an additional two weeks to move (paid for it, of course, but they were more than willing, as the condos aren't converting at anywhere NEAR the rate they thought they would be. Working HB to death as Robin is working 2 jobs (the one she's starting herself is getting off the ground, and she's busy most nights), and my job is pressing with some overtime (and other times, just running me to where I'm not as useful for packing and moving. I'd forgotten how old 52 damn near 53 could be....
I try to check out lj every few days even when I don't have time to respond, but I've been a little lax lately, as we move the network/internet connection from VC to BayPoint.
I'm using my holiday to wait until 10:00 before going back to work there--hopefully we can get most of the rest of the packing done today, and have the movers come this weekend to move the remaining big stuff (piano, etc.) I have carved out my office space (out of the neck high boxes in the area, and am actually starting to whittle away at the pile before me.
BTW, my two decades plus delayed apology for my thoughts way back when, "If you want to make a living doing music, why don't you just quit your job and do it?" Everything seems so easy when you're in your 20s and think you know everything. (Then when you're in your 50s and DO know everything, it's too late to do anything about it--except pass on your wisdom to the next generation, who think THEY know everything, so who's going to listen to an old fart?
(So what? We're MELODIOUS old farts....)
In between hauling loads (and often in the middle of doing so), you know I'm praying for you and yrs...especially you.
