Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to all! We got back a little over an hour ago from Thanksgiving dinner up in Columbia at friends of my mom's. Mass quantities were consumed. In addition to toooooorkey, of course (and stuffing and gravy) there were yams, broccoli, green beans, a jello mold, beer bread, and apple pie and pumpkin bread for dessert.
Many things to be thankful for, starting with my lovely wife the_sheryl, our two krazy kitties Nova and Luna, and our book- and CD-filled townhouse. I'm thankful for my employment, which is not merely a paycheck but is work I enjoy doing (even after a 16-hour day of building code hearings). I'm thankful for all the places I make music--cons and housefilks, FSGW, and 3LF--and all those I make music with, whose music I enjoy listening to, and who listen to me. I'm thankful for Scott Dorsey and his recording gear, and a CD I may ACTUALLY GIVE BIRTH TO next year. I'm thankful for all my friends on and off LJ, fannish and non-fannish, and my family too (even the ones who occasionally drive me nutters). I'm thankful for good health and the ability to do the things I enjoy.
And finally, I'm thankful for dreams I thought were dead, but may only have been hibernating. I may be ready to chase them again.
Looking forward to seeing folks at Darkover this weekend! Meanwhile, we have also registered and booked hotel & flights for GAFilk, so we will shortly see folks down south too. And of course, there's still a birthday to be celebrated in just a couple of weeks... 8-)
