On 6 November at 11:00 AM, Shinhwa's Eric (real name Moon Jung Hyuk) accepted an award from his drill commander, after completing his four-week basic military training at the Nonsan Training Center in ChungCheongnam-do. As soon as he got admitted to training on 9 November, the drills done by Eric were extremely difficult for him.
The awarding took place in a ceremony, where Eric's regiment commander solemnly and respectfully conferred unto him his award.
Eric's superior told Newsen during a phone conversation "Eric accepted, worked hard and persevered and faithfully accomplished his army training, hence meriting an award". He laughs, "Eric participated in and finished all drills, besting everybody else, and for this he deserves an award."
He says "Remarkably, there's more to Eric than meets the eye. Eric says that even though it was tough, it was all worth it. He believes that there should be training for all kinds of warfare [chemical, biological, and so on], and his active participation in this training was a good experience," he added.
In the meantime, Eric shall be training on the 11th at Seoul Metro, and starting on the 12th he shall begin his civil service.
