I do NOT like being awake on a Saturday morning at 8 am.. with a fucking cold too!!! I expect this weekend will suck, cuz it already does a great deal.

losing those we care deeply for is never a good experience in any fashion ... my mother and father both lost their mothers in the last few years, my mother's mother just this August. i was close to my father's mother, but moreso to my mother's because she lived closer to us and i saw her much more often, spent more time with her. when she died, that was the first time i'd cried in a long time ... the first time something had had such an impact upon me. and not even five days after her death, my father went into heart surgery to combat his ongoing arrhythmia (which he'd been battling the past four or five years) ... so it was quite possible i was about to lose another family member.

thankfully, i didn't ... and dad is doing better than ever, with no complications.

these kind of things really alter the perspective you have on life ... on mortality in general. and, not to mention, those close to you who are still living.

well, enough of that ... i'm sure you're probably sick of getting sympathy and whatnot by now.

having a cold sucks ... some folks at work are coming down with bronchitis, and i'm afraid of getting it myself. oh well ... if it happens, it happens. blargh.

and, on a side note: Allfather, based on the one track i've heard (the song "... and With God Bereft" on the Insights of the Profane compilation), absolutely slaughter.
