This was fun, and now I want to write this story! Hee.

“So, Ms. Noble, you’re saying you work with this doctor…what’s his name, again?” Eames asked.

“Just the Doctor.”

Eames shook her head, trying to make sense of what was happening. The scene in Central Park was chaotic: trees toppled, pathways cracked and crumbled, and approximately a thousand people standing in a circle as if hypnotized. Eames didn’t even know if this British woman was a witness or somehow involved in the craziness.

“Detective, I promise you I am just trying to help these people,” she said, gesturing to the human circle. “The Doctor thinks there must be a transmitter of some sort nearby, broadcasting a signal - oh, there he is!” Donna pointed to a skinny man in a suit and sneakers standing next to a fountain. Actually, he was standing in the fountain. “That’s the Doctor, talking to that tall man carrying the binder.”

Eames shaded her eyes and looked where Donna pointed. A strange man with wild hair was splashing in the fountain while talking excitedly to Goren. Suddenly he scooped up a handful of water and drank it, then stuck his tongue out several times.

Donna said, “You might not believe me, but the Doctor is really brilliant. Eccentric, but brilliant. He’ll solve this.”

Eames watched as Goren joined the man in the fountain, scooped up some water, and bent his head down to take a large sniff. She sighed and closed her notebook.

“Yeah, I believe it. Let’s go take a look.”
