A philosophical question

You chop off an undead guy’s head with your cheap Home Depot ax. The handle cracks so you get another from the hardware. You notch the blade killing a werewolf so you replace it. The undead guy shows up a week later, head sown back on with the string from a weed-wacker. You go after him with your cheap-ass ax. He staggers back and screams “That’s the ax you chopped off my head with last time".
Is he right?
